How to get more customers for your Miami business: a 30-day plan for your online presence

Short answer: before paying for ads, make sure people already searching for you can find you and trust you. That means a verified, complete Google profile, your own website in Spanish and English with your license visible, real reviews, the same details across directories, and fast replies. Below is a four-week plan to get there.

Data as of

Why online presence matters more every year in Miami-Dade

More businesses open in the county every year. In the Sunbiz file, active companies with a Miami-Dade address filed in each year number 77,887 from 2024, 94,051 from 2025 and 108,413 from 2026 (through October 7). Part of the gap is that older companies have had more time to close, but 2026 already passed 2025 before the year is over. More competition means customers compare more before they call.

And a big part of the market isn't presenting itself well. In our review of 500 providers with an active license, 179 had no website of their own, 23 only had social media, and 110 had a broken or weak site. If you're well presented, you already stand out.

The 30-day plan

Week 1: get found

  • Claim and verify your Google Business Profile. Real name, specific category, address or service areas, hours, phone and website. (Step-by-step guide.)
  • Check your Sunbiz record. Make sure the company is active (the annual report is due between January 1 and May 1) and the address is current.
  • Look up your license in the official source (DBPR, FDACS, the Tax Collector list or the IRS list) and write down the exact number: you'll use it everywhere.
  • Claim your free Valaku listing, which shows your license with a verification date. (Claim it.)

Week 2: earn trust

  • Have your own website that works on phones, with call and WhatsApp buttons, your services, your areas and your license number. (What it needs.)
  • Spanish and English. In Miami-Dade, 2 out of 3 people age 5 and older speak Spanish at home (Census Bureau, ACS 2018-2022, table C16001). If your website, profile and messages are in both languages, you don't lose either audience.
  • Real photos of your work and team on your website and Google profile.

Week 3: get recommended

  • Ask every customer this month for a review, using your Google link, with no incentives. (How to do it within the rules.)
  • Reply to every review, including old ones.
  • Ask for referrals from people who already recommend you: building managers, real estate agents, other trades that work before or after you.

Week 4: get chosen

  • Reply fast. An automatic message on WhatsApp Business or email saying when you'll get back to them already helps.
  • Write out answers to the usual questions on your website: price range or what it depends on, timing, warranty, whether you give written estimates.
  • Same details everywhere: website, Google, social media and directories (Bing Places, Apple Business Connect, Yelp, Nextdoor). Same name, phone and address.
  • Measure: ask every new customer how they found you and write it down.

What not to do

  • Buy reviews or "followers." The FTC prohibits it and Google removes those reviews (16 CFR Part 465; Google Maps policies).
  • Stuff keywords into your Google profile name. It can get you suspended.
  • Copy the same page for every city changing only the name. It doesn't help customers, and Google asks for content that's useful to people.
  • Pay someone who "guarantees" the top spot. Google says you can't pay for a better local ranking.

FAQ

Do I have to pay for ads to get customers online? Not necessarily. Your Google profile, your own website, reviews and free directories are the foundation. Ads can add to that, but without the foundation they deliver less.

What should I do first? Verify and complete your Google Business Profile. It's free and it's the quickest to show results.

Does social media help? Yes, for showing your work and staying in touch, but it doesn't replace your website or Google profile, because you don't control it.

How long before I notice a difference? It depends on your trade, area and competition. Don't trust anyone who promises results in a set number of days.
